Dubai Towers - Dubai
Dubai Tower Dubai was a massive mixed use four tower complex designed in 2008 as a testament of Dubai's world-class architectural and construction prowess. The ill fated project's developer Sama Dubai, intended this to form the centerpiece of The Lagoons, a megaproject located on Dubai Creek which was to consist of seven islands. The project was officially cancelled due to the downturn in the real estate market, however, it was unlikely to have ever been built due to its inefficient design.
Dubai World Trade Centre - Dubai
The Dubai World Trade Centre comprises of the original tower, the Dubai International Convention Centre and residential apartments. Al Jaber Engineering & Contracting was engaged to refurbish the Dubai World Trade Centre in 2008. The first phase consisted of a new 588-room hotel as well as three new commercial buildings to be built next to the Exhibition Center. The $900+ MM contract has been delayed until recently and is now expected to begin construction later this year.
